# Texas Aqua Monitor > A free public map of Texas groundwater well levels, reservoir storage, water alerts, county water-use data, and mapped data centers. Built for Texas residents, farmers, ranchers, landowners, researchers, and others seeking source-attributed water information. Canonical website: https://aquachambers.com/ ## What the app provides - USGS groundwater well readings and histories, with aquifer and county filters. TWDB boundary layers provide aquifer context; some well-to-aquifer assignments are inferred from location. - TWDB reservoir storage and a statewide ten-year comparison expressed in gallons. A decrease of 20% or more triggers a separate alert when comparable data is available. This is reservoir storage, not statewide groundwater volume or total water loss. Changes in reservoir capacity and coverage can affect comparisons. - OpenStreetMap data-center locations, modeled facility water-use estimates, and USGS county industrial water-use data. Estimates are not measured consumption; survey data is not real-time. - A free, public map with optional financial support. No paid subscription is required to access the map. ## Main page - [Texas Aqua Monitor](https://aquachambers.com/): Interactive map, water alerts, location filters, well histories, statistics, and data-source information. About, Support, and How to use are panels within this page, not separate page URLs. ## Public API reference These are data endpoints for explicit application or user requests, not additional pages for search indexing. Automated crawlers should respect the site's robots.txt API exclusion. Availability depends on upstream sources; inspect freshness and availability fields instead of assuming that a response represents a live reading. - [Groundwater wells](https://aquachambers.com/api/wells): USGS groundwater observations, filterable by aquifer, county, and source. Includes warnings and saved-data fallback information. - [Aquifers and well counts](https://aquachambers.com/api/aquifers): Aquifer groupings and counts for monitored wells. - [Water warnings](https://aquachambers.com/api/warnings): App-defined groundwater warning and critical levels. - [Reservoir storage](https://aquachambers.com/api/reservoirs): TWDB reservoir observations with source and unit information. - [Ten-year reservoir comparison](https://aquachambers.com/api/reservoirs/storage-comparison): Statewide reservoir storage comparison, gallons, and the 20% decrease alert. - [Mapped data centers](https://aquachambers.com/api/datacenters): OpenStreetMap locations and modeled water-use estimates, not measured facility consumption. - [County industrial water use](https://aquachambers.com/api/wateruse): USGS water-use survey data with year and freshness information. ## Data sources and attribution - [USGS National Water Information System](https://waterservices.usgs.gov/): Groundwater observations; provisional and subject to revision. - [USGS Water Use](https://water.usgs.gov/watuse/): Water-use survey data. - [TWDB Water Data for Texas](https://www.waterdatafortexas.org/reservoirs/statewide): Reservoir storage. TWDB also supplies aquifer boundary context. - [OpenStreetMap](https://www.openstreetmap.org/): Mapped data-center locations and base-map data. © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the [Open Database License (ODbL)](https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/). ## Limits and interpretation Data can be delayed, incomplete, or served from saved readings when a source is unavailable. Retain measurement dates, source attribution, availability notes, and licensing terms when citing it. Do not describe the entire combined dataset as public domain. Well depths do not establish statewide groundwater gallons. Water alerts use app-defined thresholds, not official emergency classifications. The current map does not provide farm/ranch distance measurements, modeled noise safety zones, or live ERCOT grid-outage alerts; retained grid API code does not make those active map features. This site is informational, not a substitute for official notices or emergency, legal, or safety advice.
